Step 2: Start.io most recent SDK version
Integrate the most recent version of the Start.io (Formerly StartApp) SDK into all of your apps. The latest SDK version is GDPR compliant and includes the implementation of applicable consent strings indicating the users consent for personalized ads by processing certain personal data.
Step 3: user location
Identify all users who are located in one of the countries subject to the GDPR (the list of countries can be found here).
Step 4: consent dialog box
Add a consent dialog box enabling users in countries subject to the GDPR to provide consent to processing of personal data for the purpose of displaying personalized ads. Send the applicable consent flag to Start.io (Formerly StartApp), via the API. In case of any change of consent by the user, re-submit the relevant consent flag to Start.io.
SDK versions older than 3.9.3 for Android / 3.8.0 for iOS will continue to be supported and show ads. However, no ads can be placed to EEA based users without their consent to process certain personal data. If you can't update to the GDPR compliant SDK or obtain user consent for EEA users, you shouldn’t initialize the Start.io (Formerly StartApp) SDK.
Publishers using SDK version 3.9.3 for Android / 3.8.0 for iOS who are sending traffic from countries subject to the GDPR (i.e., EEA) without passing the consent flag may be subject to limitations in ads serving and other services provided by Start.io.
Step 5: app review
